Monroe County Community School Corporation
Value for Yesterday ...Vigor for Today... Vision for Tomorrow
The Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) oversees 21 schools in the county. The corporation has a stated goal of having broad diversity in cultures, religions, ethnic groups, and socioeconomic levels. This diversity and the school community's commitment to quality education have made the MCCSC an educational leader in Indiana for the past thirty-five years.
The MCCSC oversees two high schools (Bloomington North and Bloomington South), three middle schools (Jackson Creek, Batchelor, and Tri-North), and several specialty schools and elementary schools. Most of the remaining Monroe County schools are overseen by Richland-Bean Blossom.
The high schools offer very rigorous and challenging curricula that annually produce a significant number of students completing Advanced Placement exams and earning college credit. MCCSC students consistently score above the state and national average on the SAT/ACT and above the state average on the ISTEP/GQE. Consequently, each year the MCCSC high schools have students competing for National Merit Scholarships and earning the Indiana Academic Honors Diploma.
The MCCSC offers comprehensive educational curricula with special activities and programs geared to provide enrichment, exploration, and instructional support for students in grades pre-K through 12.
The MCCSC provides excellent opportunities for students to participate in outstanding programs such as academic teams, athletics, fine arts, performing arts, and publications. The MCCSC high schools have award-winning instrumental and choral programs and have earned Indiana athletic championships as well as state and national academic competitions.
The MCCSC provides students with a quality education in excellent schools that have been built by the efforts of outstanding educators, dedicated administrators, supportive school board members and involved parents. Visitors are welcome at the schools.
The MCCSC has an annual budget of roughly $75 million.
