Star Trek connections to Bloomington

The Star Trek series of tv shows and movies has several direct and indirect connections with Bloomington and the regional area.

Characters

Kathryn Janeway was born in Bloomington and there is now a real monument on the the B-Line Trail honoring her.
Mark Johnson, Katheryn Janeway's former fiance, is noted to have also been born in Bloomington in a novel that is considered canon.

Kate Mulgrew, the actor who played Katheryn Janeway visited Bloomington for the dedication of the statue.
Jay Louden, the actor who played the half naked host in The Next Generation first season episode Justice, attended Indiana University in Bloomington between 1973 and 1977.
Dee Bradley Baker, born in Bloomington in 1962, is the voice of Murf on Star Trek: Prodigy.

Jeri Taylor, one of the primary writers of Star Trek: Voyager and some episodes of The Next Generation, was born in Bloomington and attended Indiana University.
Lee Sheldon, an assistant professor in the Department of Telecommunications at Indiana University Bloomington from 2006 to 2010, was a producer on Star Trek: The Next Generation during the first eight episodes of the 4th season.

In the Voyager episode 11:59, Henry Janeway is described as having drove into Bloomington to get supplies.
In The Next Generation 1st season episode The Neutral Zone, one of the character's descendants is described as living "Just outside Indianapolis". (By the 23rd century, Indianapolis might be large enough that Bloomington would be considered just outside of it. Who knows.)
In the Star Trek: The Next Generation 2nd season episode 11001001, Commander Riker plays the Hoagy Carmichael song "The Nearness of You" on the trombone while in the holodeck. He also plays a short reprise of that melody in the 5th season episode Conundrum.
In the Voyager episode The 37s, one of the human "aliens" they meet is named John Evansville. Given Jeri Taylor's influence on the show this is likely referring to Evansville, Indiana.
