Moses Kahn

From Bloomingpedia

Moses Kahn (1850-1920) was a prominent clothing merchant in Bloomington. Born in France, he came to Bloomington at the age of 16, and, after a year of study at Indiana University, joined a clothing business owned by his uncle Isaac Kahn, where he remained for two years. Afterward, he entered the employ of Levi Tannenbaum, a clothing merchant, and in 1875 he formed a partnership with Solomon Tannenbaum, which continued until their store was destroyed by fire in 1883. He quickly resumed business on his own and remained proprietor of the Kahn Clothing Company until his death.

Mr. Kahn married the former Celia Hirsch in 1878. They had six children: Gertrude, Isadore, Amy, Edgar, Howard, and Fred.
