From Bloomingpedia
Awesome Cool Dudes

The Awesome Cool Dudes are a Casio-flavored new wave band, comprised of Nate Cross, Nate Lineback, Jay McElfresh, and Cory Plump. They formed in Bloomington in 2001.

History

The Awesome Cool Dudes formed in 2001 in Bloomington, Indiana. Shortly after recording their debut album, "Awesome Cool Dudes," (self-recorded and mixed at Farm Fresh Studios) they moved to Austin, Texas. The "Dudes" arrived in Austin as a three piece (adding Nate Cross on keyboards, zylophone, guitar, drums and melodica shortly after he moved to Austin from New Orleans).

The Dudes have played SXSW (2004, 2005, 2006) and live on-air on LiveSet on KUT Austin 90.5. They've lent their music and written several original scores for movies by The Late Train Productions.

Current Events

The Awesome Cool Dudes' summer 2006 tour was cut short after the band's van (containing all of their instruments, gear, merchandise, and personal belongings) was stolen after a show in Charlotte, NC.
