The building at 1022 East Third Street was originally built by the Indiana University chapter of Phi Kappa Psi in 1912. The architects for the project were Brubaker & Stern and the general contractor was Albert von Spreckelson, both of Indianapolis.

It currently houses the Karl F. Schuessler Institute for Social Research.
