Singing Hoosiers

From Bloomingpedia

The Singing Hoosiers are a chorale group within the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, lead by Michael Schwartzkopf. The group generally has around 100 IU students as members. Prospective singers must audition to be placed in the group and receive college credit for participation. The singers travel extensively and must attend daily rehearsals.

Each year the Singing Hoosiers perform at least two concerts at the Indiana University Auditorium in Bloomington, a Spring Concert and a Christmas concert known as the Chimes of Christmas. In addition, they perform at various athletic events and accompany opera and ballet productions.

The group has released several CD's and have been nominated for Grammy awards.
