Mark Andrew Spitz (born February 10, 1950) is a world-famous Olympic swimmer who attended Indiana University in the 1970s. He holds 9 Olympic gold medals and he held the world record for the most Olympic medals won at a single Olympic games (7 in 1972) until that mark was surpassed by Michael Phelps at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
While at IU, he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.
