World-Courier Building

From Bloomingpedia
World Courier Building as it appeared shortly after construction

The World-Courier Building at 113 E. Fourth Street was erected in 1911 by Oscar H. Cravens, publisher of the daily Bloomington World and weekly Bloomington Courier newspapers. John Nichols was listed as architect in the construction trade journals in the fall of that year.

The original design of the structure, which has been called German Renaisance Revival, was largely lost over years of remodeling and repairs. In 2024 Justin Fox restored many of the original features in the front facade.
