Tuba Christmas
Tuba Christmas is a presentation of annual concerts performed by tuba, baritone and euphonium players of all ages throughout the world. The players at these concerts are recruited from each geographic area.
Tuba Christmas first appeared on December 22, 1974 as a concert at New York City's Rockefeller Plaza Ice Rink by Harvey Phillips, to honor his teacher, William J. Bell, born Christmas day 1902. Nearly every region in the United States would eventually have its own Tuba Christmas concert. There are now over 200 concerts around the world each year. The concerts have been featured in the national media.
The concerts take place in many different venues include concert halls, shopping malls, stores and outdoor settings.
