Pliant Corporation
The Pliant Corporation is a global producer of packaging products for food, personal care, medical, industrial and agricultural markets. They are headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois. They have a production facility located on the west side of Bloomington which runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week producing packaging for dry foods, frozen baked goods and pet food packaging. The 85,800 sqaure foot facility opened in 1996 as second facility for United Films. The plant manager is Curt Howard.
Located at 4100 Profile Parkway in the heart of Bloomington's west side industrial area, the facility sits at the corner of Loesch Road, with railroad access running up to the south side of the building. There are usually 4 to 6 train cars sitting there in the process of being loaded.
In April of 2006 they installed some new outside storage cylinder.
In the lobby they have a trophy case display showing what products are produced at the plant.
