O2R Blues Band
The O2R Blues Band was created in 1997 by musicians Jim Sprague, Ken Grooms, Zain Mackey and Lee Van Buskirk. They have been playing in Bloomington and surrounding areas ever since.
Their first gig was a party held at a farm in the eastern part of the county where Zain first publicly sang with the group.
Dan Allen, harp and Lee E Cohn, drums were early members of the band.
Michele Brentano, keyboards was added in 2008.
Jim Sprague was early on influenced by Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan. Local musician Whit Creuse was aso an early influence. Ken Grooms played cello as a youngster and picked up the bass in 1992. He and Bob Kissel were co-founders of The Blue Monday show on WFHB. Lee Van Buskirk has played in a number of rock bands since he first starting playing guitar as a teenager.
