Dreams and Swords
From Bloomingpedia
Dreams and Swords was a feminist bookstore located at 116 N. Grant Street in Bloomington. It opened on July 25, 1986, a branch of a store located in Broad Ripple and owned by Harriet Clare. At the time Athena was also in the building. It went out of business in 1988 but manager Nicki Nicklas and some other residents carried the bookstore forward under the name Aquarius Books. It carried books on spirituality, healing and recovery, women's studies, lesbian studies, psychology and sociology, as well as works about black women studies and the Third World. It also carried a small selection of jewelry, music, and non-sexist children's literature.
