Cafe Django was an intimate Asian fusion restaurant across from the Monroe County Public Library on Grant Street. There was both indoor and outdoor seating. Live jazz and eclectic music was usually played on Friday and Saturday evenings. The restaurant itself was named after French jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt.
The owner, Kunyang Norbu, previously operated the Norbu Cafe on 4th Street. She is married to Thubten Norbu, director of the Tibetan Cultural Center. Their son, Jigme Norbu, operated the nearby Snow Lion restaurant (and the now closed Bazaar Cafe).
