File:Showers-Brothers-Furniture1.jpg

From Bloomingpedia
Original file(1,320 × 962 pixels, file size: 144 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Picture of the main Showers Brothers Furniture factory on Morton Street. This picture was scanned from page 22 of the book Bloomington Past & Present by Will Counts, James H. Madison and Scott Russell Sanders. The book is copyright 2002 although the picture was obviously taken in the early 20th century, possibly the 1920s. The caption under the picture as it is in the book says "The unique saw-thooth roof of the Showers Brothers furniture company is evident in this historic photo. Founded in 1868, Showers was Bloomington's largest employer in the 1920s. The building now houses government offices and other businesses. MONROE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY MUSEUM". Since the picture was probably taken before 1933, it may be in the public domain.
